Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a new project?

Tap the "Projects" tab, then tap the "+" button in the top right. Fill in your project details and tap "Save".

Can I add photos to my projects?

Yes! Open any project and tap "Add Photos" to document progress with up to 5 photos per project.

How do I compare quotes from different contractors?

Open a project, scroll to the "Quotes" section, and tap "Add Quote" for each contractor. The app automatically sorts them by price with the lowest highlighted.

Can I manage multiple properties?

Yes! Go to Settings and tap "Add Another Home" to manage multiple properties. Use the home picker to switch between them.

How do I track permits?

Open a project, scroll to "Permits", and tap "Add Permit". Track status (Not Filed, Applied, Granted, Rejected) and important dates.

Is my data backed up?

All data is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your MyHome data is included in your device backup automatically.

Can I export my data?

Currently, data stays within the app on your device. Export features may be added in future updates.

How do I delete a project?

Open the project, tap the trash icon in the top right, and confirm deletion. This will also delete all associated quotes and photos.

What are room dimensions used for?

When you add room dimensions (length × width), the app automatically calculates square footage. This helps with material estimates for flooring, paint, and more.

How do I add store prices for materials?

Open a project, go to "Materials", tap a material, then tap "Add Store Price". You can compare prices from multiple stores and see the lowest price highlighted.

Getting Started

Set up your home: Go to Settings to edit your home details and add rooms
Add contractors: Tap the "Contractors" tab and add your trusted contractors
Create projects: Tap "Projects" → "+" to start tracking repairs
Get quotes: Add quotes from contractors to compare prices
Track progress: Update project status and add photos as work progresses

Rate contractors: Use the 5-star rating system to remember quality
Use categories: Organize projects by type (Plumbing, Electrical, etc.)
Add notes: Keep detailed notes on contractors and quotes for future reference
Track dates: Set start and end dates to stay on schedule
Take photos: Document before, during, and after to track progress
Click to call: Tap contractor phone numbers to call directly from the app
